A common belief in our world today is that everything is simply random. The belief says that good fortune is found through luck and bad fortune as the result of karma. Can we let you in on a little secret? According to the Bible, that belief could not be more wrong. You are not the product of luck or Karma. In fact, scripture is clear that your life is not an accident. You were created by God and for God’s pleasure. Through your faith in Jesus, you can now experience and enjoy His presence as well as fulfill His purpose for and through you on the earth.

We learn this in the first book of the Bible, Genesis, which begins by telling us the story of creation. Through the power of words, God spoke the world into existence. He created the day and night, animals and plants and separated the land from the sea. He even created angels and yet, as majestic as they are, God wasn’t finished. In Genesis 1:27, scripture says that God created man “in his image” for the purpose of relationship. Now, in the same way as we enjoy our human families, we are now able to enjoy a personal relationship with God. We’ll unpack that a bit more in the days to come but for now, just take a moment and think about how incredibly cool it is to be in a relationship with the Creator of the Universe.
