Living a Life of Worship

So, if prayer is talking to God, what is worship? Are they the songs we sing before the sermon? That’s a great question and a common response. While it’s true that singing is a part of worship, it’s actually only one part. Worship is actually a lifestyle. The word lifestyle is defined as “a particular way of living”. Before you came to know Jesus as your Savior, you had a particular way of living. Your motivations, habits, and decisions were once guided by your own desires. Now, that you have become a Christian, the Bible tells us that we should live to bring glory to God. Whenever we bring glory to God that is worship.

Worship isn’t simply an event or a place—it’s your new way of life. It’s a new way of thinking. It’s a process of thinking God’s way about life and allowing His way of thinking to become yours. The Bible calls it renewing our minds. In the same way that our spirits were born again, we need to wash our minds with scripture found in the Bible. The way we think influences the way we feel which impacts the way we act and react. The more you saturate your mind with the Word of God, the more you will live a lifestyle of worship.
